Enhance Learning of Science Through Watercolor Painting

When you think about it, it's not too surprising that artists as diverse as
Leonardo da Vinci, John James Audubon, and Beatrice Potter
delved into both.

Science and Art
have much in common!

Both science and art inspire creative thinking, close observation, and interaction with
real materials to
understand and explore the world we live in.

Both
science and art stimulate the imagination and cause us to wonder and investigate!

Tapping both the right side of the brain and the left side of the brain,
science and art are
naturally integrated through
measurements, diagrams, perspective, proportions,
photographs, drawings and paintings of observations, notations of line, shape,
color, and texture.
They are dynamic partners!

How did that sunset get so red?

What makes the leaves change color in autumn?

Look at those features on that leopard!

What creates the Northern Lights, and why at only certain times of the year?

How many colors can a chameleon change?   ...And so on...

Help your Right-brain-dominant student!

Use their natural inquisitiveness and artistic bent to record their observations and learning
through drawing or painting the colors, textures, shapes, habitat, etc., of their scientific
explorations and investigations. It's a valid and effective form of note-taking for right-brained
students who have a bent toward the artistic side of things. This meets the learning style of
students who are at odds with more traditional left-brained styles of teaching. Interacting with
the information in their preferred way will greatly increase their retention and interest in the
subject matter.

"You Can Do It! ART" DVD video watercolor painting enhances learning in all subjects by
drawing on both sides of the brain for
inquisitiveness, observation and creative
thinking.
Excellent teachers encourage excellence in their students through innovation and
relaxing, fun ways to help students learn new things. Whether it's
Newton's Laws of
Motions on Ice or new ways of experimenting with watercolor painting, lines, color, and
textures,
explorations of curiosity, insight and fun produce life-long learning!
